Do you add your forum(s) to topsite directories? You know, the ones where you get a link to have your visitors/members click in order to boost your ranking on the topsite (for example, TheWebTower).

I participated in multiple top sites with one of my former forums, and some of the members did religiously click for us. It was a free and easy way to get some additional traffic, but it's nothing spectacular.

Do you participate in topsites? What are your thoughts on them? Have they worked for you?

I do, but because I actually own a topsite, it's kinda required. Okay, I only have my site on my own topsite and nowhere else, but hey, I don't join sites at random much any more.

I've been debating this one for about a year now. There is a couple of these topsites just for my niche but I'm just not sure I want their buttons on my site. Do you or any9one else feels like this could be a good move?

    No, I do not.

You really like driving traffic to other sites?

That is the main reason I don't want their buttons or links on my site. It just seems like it would funnel traffic away from your site.

I tried one once but it didnt require a link on your own site. It brought very little traffic and was a waste of time to be honest.

I don't, I think they are a waste of time. It seems like something that may of worked in the 1990's, but IMHO they are just about worthless now.

Couldnt have said it better :D

To be perfectly honest I think that youre more likely to get more traffic from a signature on AA to a completely unrelated forum than by using one of those topsites.
