Creating a website just to have a use for the domain probably isn't a good idea if you want to be successful. It's kinda like buying a fourth car just to fill your 4-car garage. :P

There's nothing wrong with sitting on the domain with nothing going on. I have several unused domains, and some people have dozens or even hundreds.

Put a forwarding on it until you get a good project going that suits the name.

I have a bunch of unused domain names that were plans that never happened and I often think 'what should I use it for?' and perhaps would tackle one or two of them if I wasn't busy with websites that are doing well, sort of thing.

So yeah, redirect is wise I think. Stick to the ones that are working. :)
