Well, selling things on DigitalPoint does help. As soon as I bumped my Marketplace thread there, I got 3 PM's already with people wanting to buy Adspots on AdminBB, sold 2 already, just waiting for the third guy to send the money so I can add his.

Yea, you should. Its worth it, they all are happy with my cheap prices considering the amount of traffic. If you want business then DP is definitely a good place. But yea there are scammers so you gotta be careful.

I should imagine it's like that at any forum where transactions are made, etc.

Nice and your site is growing to be "the greatest Administration forum ever"

How much has your site earned already this month?

You should write down everything in notepad, and keep track. That way you can possibly run a posting contest one day, or something. :P

I already do that, so I know when to remove certain ads and what not.

Hey! That is good news. I'm really happy to hear you are having success with selling your own ad space. As I've said before, when you sell your own ad space, rather than just rely on Adsense or Adbrite or other third party advertising services, you control your forum. And, it's true. All those ad servers are great, but you lose so much control when you have to bend over backward just to adhere to the rules, editing yourself and your forum posts just to make them happy. And, the rules are ever changing. Adsense creates dependency rather than self sufficiency.

At some point, the forum belongs more to Google Adsense than the forum administrator.

There are so many other forum and site owners who would happily advertise on your site, with or without the cheap prices. I'm sure you'll be able to raise prices in time and still attract advertisers.

Tell me about it, I was using adsense about 4 months ago, then I got tired of it and removed it and just started selling adspace which I have been earning a good amount from.
