show today's threads to guest

Hello admins
Can you turn this on, the options to guest isn't the best.
The adminaddict drop down doesn't work either, and it would be fantastic if we had a "todays post" option
I've a few times and wanted to see todays post but didn't want to login just to see the new post.

please consider my suggestion

I dont show "todays posts" to guests either...

 

Sometimes I don't want to login just to see what new threads have been posted
I've always allowed this to guest, I give them as much content as I can and it's always worked out very well.
I'd say 90% of the forums I visit do this as well, it was just a suggestion but I guess the staff isn't interested or hasn't seen the suggestion.
ps.. I also pointed out the broken drop-downs

 

Nick wasn't online last night, I don't think, and was on only briefly this morning. Since he's not in the habit of ignoring threads, particularly a suggestion, I'm sure he'll reply when he returns.

 

I didn't think he would either, what you mean he isn't on here 24/7 bad bad admin :mad2:

Thanks, Peggy - this is exactly the case.

I'm only in for a short while this afternoon/evening as well so I'll address this to calm everyone down.

I've been aware of the broken drop-downs actually, and have absolutely no idea how to fix it. It's really weird that it works perfectly for logged-in members, but not guests.

I will add the Today's Posts link to the navbar for guests; I've added it to my ever-growing list of things to do.

 

I can take a look if you like, there are 2 sets of code for those drop downs, usually both in the navbar but it looks like you have a set in the header that isn't connecting to the 2nd part.

I always thought the today's posts was a conditional anyway. Guests are shown Today's posts and logged in users are shown New Posts. Am I imagining things? :p

1 - Today's Posts link has been added for guests.

2 - "AdminAddict" pop-up menu now works for guests, as well.
