I've seen a couple of forums lately that didn't show the dates of the latest posts on the forumhome, or in the thread listing. I don't know if they were shown for registered members or not, but it gave me the feeling that the forum owner might be trying to hide some inactivity. Do you think removing the dates is a good idea or a bad one?

Bad IMO, just cant see any good reason to do it.

I agree with Paul. I've seen this a few times as well, and I think they are indeed trying to hide substantial inactivity. There is no good reason for the dates to be hidden - even to guests.

It usually is a huge turn-off to me so I just leave the site fairly quickly.

o.รด I really find it pointless, once the person joins and sees the actual inactivity it will be like the person never joined, tumbleweeds~

I agree with what's already been said - I tend to see this as a "bad move" on the management team's part and will generally ignore discussion communities that do this.

Not only did it make the place look like the owner was trying to cover something up, all that empty space just made the template look weird. As if there wasn't any information on the site, period.

i dont think its a good idea, cause it might make people think they are hiding the fact that their forum hasnt been posted on in months.
