    Hello,
should I remove vBSEO from my forum? I want to remove vBSEO and redirect the url's to the vBulletin 4 mod_rewrite URL's.
Are there any case studies about removing vBSEO and move to vBulletin 4 url's with 301 redirect?

Are the vBSEO functions outdated and a risk for search engine ranking?

    Best regards
    Matthias

I don't think search friendly urls from vbSEO is outdated or any risk of falling in search engine ranking due to vbSEO. vbSEO is out of business, so future bugs related to vbSEO plugin will be a issue to fix. You can uninstall vbSEO and do 301 redirects based on your configs.

Do you plan to stay on vBulletin for a long time? If not, it will be easier to just move to another forum software and only have to do one set of url redirections.

Fore me, there is no alternative to vBulletin. vBulletin is easy to use and to configurate. There are a lot of plugins for it.
I hate the design of XenForo and other forums software. I think I will stay on vBulletin for sure.
vBulletin has the functions I need.

Some peoble said, the vBSEO functions are outdated and very risky with SEO.

I removed vBSEO and 301 redirect to vBulletin mod_rewrite URL's on one of my big board forums and i can't believe how megafast my forum is.
Should I remove vBSEO on all of my forums?

    Best regards

I'd recommend removing vBSEO from all your forums. The software is currently dead, why continue to use it on your sites?

What's your current URL structure, I've setup redirects for vb forums which have removed vbseo.

Give us an example of your threads and forum categories and we'll see if we can get something for you. ;)

Which preset is that in your vbseo panel?

I think those are preset 005
If so, this should work for threads and forums.

Yes that was in the vbseo panel, I just tried those rewrite rules and it didn't redirect to the old url's.

Do you have the standard URL setup inside vb 4?

Thanks for looking out Brandon, the mod rewrite friendly URLs is turned on - - Ok, its redirecting but just to the forums and not the threads.

Try disabling the vb seo options. See if it works for the standard showthread.php page.
Its sort of funny, we have several official vb staff as members here but none of them have spoken up to help.
I haven't ran a vbulletion site in years and it looks like I have been more helpful then those paid to support vb..

Paul M is not associated with that other crappy company. Just vBulletin.com. So I doubt he would want to help you fix your problems with vBSEO.

Maybe it'll help, although it looks like it's for vbseo..
