Partnership gone stale

Have you ever been in a partnership situation where your partner loses interest in the project, or does things that you feel may be harmful to the community? If so, how do you react? If that partner played as much of a role in starting up the community as you did, it's not always easy to gripe. But if they start losing interest and what not, what do you do? What can you do?

 

I would ask specifically whether the partner has an interest in moving forward with the partnership or not. Partners should have a completely open communication amongst themselves. If not them, then who?

Now, I would still offer a position of a site "mentor" or "leader" or some sort of affiliation with the site which shows that you still have respect for their contribution to the community and still give them somewhat of a 'say' in what is going on here or there.

I haven't been part of a partnership yet (although there are a couple of offers/affiliations that I'm considering), but would love to be a part of a team with the same goals in mind. With two or three committed individuals, you can take some time off (everyone needs a break of a few days here or there) without your site or revenue feeling the effects of it.

 

Buy them out, or sell up.

 

I think that is the quickest and easiest way to do it... But from my own experience from another forum that its best to communicate with each other and find out whats up if it is stale discuss a resolution to this problem before things get out of hand...

 

My son wanted a gaming forum, so I built him one. When traffic did not take off like what he expected, he lost interest.

Now I sitting on this gaming forum, scratching my head and wondering what to do. I do not have time to promote it by myself, and my son has lost all interest. So its either going to be sold, or I'am going to close it - but I'am not sure yet which one will happen.

 

Kevin, your story is just painful.

It is too easy to say that one wants something when no real effort is needed to get it. When reality hits, however, the real motivation (or lack thereof) comes right out.
I am sorry that you have to suffer for this now.
