Hiyas, Feel free to join us 24 hours a day if you're an IRC user, in channel #aliensoup on the EFNET network. http://www.aliensoup.com/forums/chat.php is the easiest method of joining us and you won't even have to leave your browser. If you are prompted to install a small chat plug-in, please allow this installation which will only take a few seconds. After that, you should no longer be prompted should you wish to return. More advanced users might already be familiar with IRC in which case just stop by! Anyone else who wishes to get a fancier client to run, just visit http://www.mirc.com to pick one up and figure it out yourself if you're so inclined! It's really quite easy... Come and say hello! We look forward to chatting with you! -Admin
We also have the Chat Room, which is a customized access for the IRC channel. If you can't figure out IRC, you should be able to get in using the Chat Room link. Top of the page, Stuff > Chat Room.
Yes, I updated my original post above. The chatroom we use is really quite easy. If you wish to move to something more advanced later you can always do that.
mIRC is an alternative, but not worth it when you consider that you have to pay (what is weird is that they give you the option of paying $5, $10, or $20 to get the same thing. odd )
you don't *have* to pay its shareware i bet only 20 people have ever registered that sucker since it isn't even required
Just giving this a bump.... Not that it needs it, but I think people tend to ignore the FYI posts after a while.
we're there, just not all the time. we'll get around to talking in fact you left as soon as someone *did* talk
We idle sometimes, but there's always someone in there. If you don't find someone right away, stick around a while. It is slow sometimes, but we can be some chatty bitches.
Yup, that's the standard way IRC works.. Sometimes the channels don't stop being busy, other times it's quiet but people pop in and start talking randomly when they're not out working or playing games or whatever.. Stay in there a few hours and you'll see what we mean... As for your question about username, MilkMonkey is too long for the EFNET network we use for IRC.. Some don't care how long it is, but EFNET has a max of 9 characters permitted.. Just a FYI.
