Since the spam issue is only one during the middle of the night, I don't see the need for new moderators. Besides, the members we would consider bringing onto the moderation team don't seem to be online in the middle of the night anyways, so it wouldn't help.

Is there a current moderation team? I have always wondered that as I have never seen anyone being one so far.

As FMB has stated, we do not currently have a moderation team. Between the three of us (meaning the administration), we can handle matters quite quickly and as such, we have yet to find the need for additional assistance. ;)

Is there even a moderator rank badge icon made?

Hehe. Moderators are good when there is one admin, but these three (specially nick and chris) are always fighting (in a good way) to see who gets to do the jobs first.

A plain example of this was when nick imported the "Simplicity" admincp skin and moments later, chris was doing it too, nick was just quicker.

Don't need any mods here really.

I agree, the only time I have seen something bad was the spamming for that phone or whatever it was earlier and yesterday but it was soon cleaned up :D

Maybe go back to approving peoples first post before you go to bed at night? Or until you figure out better means to keep spammers away?

The selling of phones is not terribly offensive but other things might be. I believe AA is now well known compared to 6 months ago.

This may become necessary. I have this measure implemented on my Linnie Forum and it works a treat. I just hate having to make new members wait to be able to engage in discussion. Imagine if one posts during the night, none of us will get to it for quite some time and the user may give up and never come back.

I don't think it's a good idea... None of you are on 24/7 and some users and impatient, pretty much if they don't see their post approved instantly, they would leave.

    Yep, that's exactly my concern.

It's best if we try to implement additional spam-prevention measures before resorting to post moderation/approval.

I agree! But it is always nice to have options.

This may be of use on your Linnie forums, I cannot begin to describe how much time or how useful it is. When people first sign up and make a post a copy of that post is made into another forum that only the staff can see. A new thread that can act as an enhanced user notes if need be.
Product Copy a Usergroups Posts - vBCodex

That way the staff does not need to click 'user cp' then 'moderated posts', then 'moderated threads' over and over, they all show up in 'new posts'. Much quicker and easier.

I actually use a notification mod that makes it really easy to know when there is a post in the moderation queue. My moderators never miss it. ;)
