Member BBcodes

    What BBcodes do you use on your forum other than the standard ones?

    We use two custom ones from the .org.

    Various video codes (youtube, google video, daily motion), definition list, aligned images, sign BB codes and right to left text are a few I use.

    Why people use bbcode for youtube any more is beyond me. There are products that do that much, much better. Use bbcode, or drop a url into a post? Seems almost a no brainer.

    What codes do I use myself? A lot, actually
    Spoiler (obvious)
    Charge ( for vbcredits )
    table (gotta have it to allign a lot of stuff)
    strikethrough (will eventually use that to denote cancelled stuff)

    A few are there that aren't used as often, such as warning,info,help,notice and attention (I should get rid of those ;)).

    I think they use BB codes for Youtube either because they started their site before the auto media embedia mods were coded (a lot of forums), or because vBulletin itself is doing that in the next version of the software and BB code doesn't have to be recoded when a software update is released.

    I did use AME, but disabled it the other day. Only Youtube videos were ever posted, some of the titles displayed wrongly sometimes and apparently it conflicted with Video-Directory for some people which I now use :)

    I have a [twitter] BBcode for the signatures, I seem to be the only one using it though.
