Making Advertising Spot #1 Rotating

I was looking at the advertise page, and I notice that #1 is a spot that is not rotating. Considering I may want to buy a spot there sooner than later, is it possible to make it rotating? Not only so people will not have to wait for a long period of time, but so you guys can intake more revenue.

This could be easily done with a little JS random image script, wouldnt take more than 15 mins to set up, I like the idea although I personally wouldnt enjoy having to edit the JS each time someone wants theirs up/down. If theyre paying for 3 months or longer then yeah that could be good.

Michael, the idea originally occurred to me when I saw it on another forum, and on vBulletin.org, I believe there is a randomizer modification. However, yes, I think the minimum should be 3 months, nobody wants to tweak.

In addition, I'd say make the maximum of 5 banners? This way, it won't get too cluttered, and also, people's banner will actually get seen.

    1) We already have randomization used in our sidebar, so the technology isn't an issue. (Thanks to DTO for that, by the way).

    2) The header advertisement may not be as sought after if it's rotating. To some advertisers, a rotating spot is less valuable than a static slot.

Yeah a lot of people want all impressions to be theirs so they prefer non-rotating as it lessens their ads value thus meaning per ad cost should really be less. Good thinking :D

At least put some good-looking banners up there.

We're not going to judge a banner by its appearance. If the slot is purchased, it is the responsibility of the individual who purchased the slot in question to provide us with the desired image. :)

I know. That was targeted at the advertisers, not you.
