... what would you be doing instead? Managing other types of websites, perhaps for the sake of income/profit?

The big question is what if you never came up with the idea to create your forum? Would you be posting on other forums and continue to trade ideas and such?

Just managing the website attached to the forum. I'd still be on internet forums though.

I'll always be on the internet and forums, even if I didn't decide to run my own. The internet IS my life, hate to say it, but I've got no other life :(.

I would most likely be a participant. I have lots of non-net activities that bring me back to the net to look for information. That is the biggest reason...to find information on how to buy a house!! lol (10 years later and the advice is still valid today), sports, outdoors, etc.

I probably would never have looked to create relationships online had it not been for online gaming, which gets you more "personal".

That was the stepping stone though, to then help family become more comfortable in posting, participating, and seeking out information.

I would probably be more concentrated on developing my 3d skills and posting on forums related to that.

The good thing about running my own sites and forums, tho, is that I'm developing other skills such as PHP and 2d programs.

I'm still playing with 3d, and I even have the most modern versions of 3ds Max, Maya, and Softimage on their way. :D Unfortunately because of the licenses, I can't make money with them, tho. :(

If I wasn't into running my own forums, I'd certainly still be a member of many of them. In fact, being a member of a forum is what got me interested in 1) joining more and 2) starting my own.

I'd probably have a few blogs or other places on the 'net that I'd call my own. If it ain't forums, it's something else. :)

I would dedicate a lot more time to photoshop and learning XHTML and CSS, once I had those done and dusted I would move onto PHP.

Yeah, I used to feel the same way, but now since I've sold all my sites except of course my own name domain, I feel relieved to say the least :D

I figured I'll share my knowledge here for a while with some nice articles about some subjects and then if I feel like it perhaps start another site, or better chances are that I'll just move on to something else once I graduate.

I'd definitely still be a forum junkie but would spend a lot less time online.

It was because of my activity on forums to begin with that I started my own. It was actually because of dissatisfaction w/ a forum I visited regularly that I decided to give my own a try. It used some way archaic software (some asp script) and went down about a quarter of the time.

But I was visiting other forums regularly already, so I figure I would still be doing that. Probably getting more sleep though.

I would be at the gun range shooting. All my free time is pretty much spent on my web site or related advertising sites.
