Someone recently posted on my forum saying my banner was to unprofessional looking. How do you make a great forum banner a bit like Admin Talk?
I made the one we see now on Admin Talk in Photoshop. Design isn't my strong side, I generally have my nicer banners and logos contracted out.
I commonly use photoshop for various things but for logo making i use AAA logo maker because it s very easy to use and it have great tools with which you can design a professional looking logo for your site or forum easily.
I use Inkscape to create my logos and banner which somehow look professional. I just lean how to use this software through youtube videos, so if you want something to learn without having trouble of reading the whole tutorials which you might not understand due terms, use youtube videos.
At my forum, the graphic designer made a sketch and made it into an image. I'm not sure how he did it because I never asked and I've never done such a thing yet although I think it's with Illustrator and PhotoShop,
A lot of people will result in some unprofessional "banner creator" website that turns out to look like complete crap. I will, and will always use Photoshop. That's always the way to go. :-) Oh, and sometimes GIMP if I'm a bit lazy.
I did mine on my own, but I recently had a Christmas logo created. The best place I've found is Digital Point Just start a thread for a logo and offer the winner $5-$10.
Yeah, I've seen a lot of great submissions from members at DP for those competitions. Also, you can get something that's good looking for a lot cheaper. That's what I like, although I've never posted a contest at Digital Point,
