Sometimes we see a certain member online and all they do is refresh the homepage over and over and over and over, why would one do that? I am talking every second here.

Perhaps it's a bot? Or maybe they have their browser set to autorefresh every second for whatever reason.

I dont get it unless it is a bug of some sort. It seems weird someone would want to do that :D It is a genuine member who has posted quite often.

It could quite possibly be a member who is experiencing extreme boredom. Rather than doing something else, they choose to refresh a selected page constantly until they witness some other form of activity (i.e. a new post, a new thread, etc.).

If you view who's online, their page will auto refresh, it's a great way to stay logged in as you're listed as actively viewing the forum even though you're not.

They were simply viewing our index. I have noticed something when reinstalling my PC when Java isnt installed the home somehow refreshes over and over strangely.

We have nailed the problem now :) Some comet files were corrupt somehow, or at least seemingly corrupt/broken.

I tend to do that to see if a new post or thread has been made.

How did you know this was happening? I would love to be able to pinpoint who is autorefreshing?

Go on your whos online page and click last activity a few times, they tend to stay above you constantly.
