My name is Martin but you will know me as Roach. I am a webmaster and have been for 5 years. I used to love to create forums but I am now into developing blogs more. I hope you enjoy what I have to say and follow my journey into hopefully turning my websites online into a business.

Thank you very much for the message. Trying to keep one going currently and then after Christmas I plan to build a network of useful blogs but SEO for my current blog as well as some design work will be first on my list.

What forums have you ran? Did you sell them or just close them?

 

In 5 years I have ran a few. Not sure if I can drop links here so I will go without.

Started my little adventure by helping someone I knew who was a flash games developer. I co owned that site and forum with him and that went quite well. I broke away from that and started a promotion forum on Forumotion (before it was that popular) I got to around 20k posts in a few months until I got hacked and as I was still new to forums I just gave up. Then other projects were small really, most of them fell through due to what my life has been like recently. I started to help co own a internet marketing forum with 300,000 posts until the actual owner sort of gave up and now there is no spam defense so that is hard to go any further with. I had a Call of Duty forum too last year with an owner but that also fell through when he left the project and shut everything down.

Bit of a rough ride of my own forums so I tend to just help other people out. May be starting up a motor forum (car forum) with someone soon and see how that one goes but I am saving up a fair amount to hopefully start one of my own next year which should hopefully do much better than the joint projects.
