Have a Contest To Bring Visitors, is it a Good Idea?

First of all, thanks for reading my thread.

This is my very first forum. I know starting up a brand new forum ain't easy at all. How to drive traffics to my forum and how to make them stay etc are very tough questions.

For welcoming new members, I am thinking to organise a contest which will allow members to win 2 units of Nexus 7. First prize would be Nexus 7 16GB and Second prize would be Nexus 7 8GB.

I am thinking to make the contest relates to Nexus 7 and/or Olympics 2012. My initial idea was to require members to think and write "I think I deserved winning Nexus 7 because......", but this is too boring I guessed.

Then my second thought was to relate it to Olympics 2012 where members have to make a guess of which country will win the gold medal for each sports, but isn't it too wide or too general? I mean even myself doesn't follow all the sports events.

Thirdly, I wonder, should I buy the two units of Nexus 7 first? Or I should wait until the winners are announced, then I will get their addresses and directly order from Google and then ship to their addresses? * if the winners are from other countries (where Nexus 7 is not yet available in their home countries), I will then order it to my place and send the Nexus 7 to the winners.

I would hope to hear some suggestions from you guys. Any inputs will be very much appreciated.
