Meez - made it all the way to being an Ambassador - and then I left the team, and the site.

 

Oh I hope I don't date myself. But was my first forum, I became an active member and later a mod was wwwthreads. I even still have the orignal software package download on a zip drive. :headbang:

 

I believe the first community I registered with was the MusicPlayer Forums.

Not that active on there anymore, maybe a couple of posts a week.

 

Does the BBS era count? Not that I remember my first.

I honestly don't remember which was my first Internet forum - probably Bioware's initial one.

 

Bellybelly.com.au i was a paying member there for 2 years when i left because they did nothing about a lying, trolling regular member who was putting me down. I then started my own forum

First main forum I was on I think was GameFAQs, I was kind of new to the internet then.

 

It was one of the early ezboards - a Michael Jackson fan forum.

It's nothing like it was now. I've visited there a couple times in the last couple of years, but it's barely hanging on by a thread now.

 

It was somewhere around 1997 or 1998 and was a PC gaming site my buddy had. One of the clan members got a subscription to some kind of forum. He had to embed the forum into a frame on his site. The actual forum was running on a server somewhere else and there was a yearly subscription fee.

From there, the next forum I joined was sometime in 1997 or 1998.

Both of those sites went off line years ago.

I was huge on BBS's though - that's where i met my now ex-husband.

 

Wow... took me a while to remember, but the first forum I ever joined was for Phi Theta Kappa - an honors society for community colleges (if that isn't a contradiction in terms). That was in '98 or '99 I think.

It was a great place to connect with people from throughout the organization. Also, the society's leadership and employees surfed the threads so it was a great place to get your ideas heard by those with the power to make changes. They also used some of the posts for quotes in their newsletters. It was always cool to see something you posted turn up in a magazine.

on the first forum i joined, i have now taken over as admin. i did with the fourth too

i joined in 2007, i think. i have 15000 posts, and the original forum closes in a few weeks.
