Features for VIP Members

What features and perks do you give to VIP members or Premium members on your forums?

I hope to get some more ideas from this thread as theres been a lot of newcomers since and that threads a month old

Any ideas you have tried and proven worked well?

 

I don't know. What do you offer standard users? What is the audience? What benefit can your site provide to the target demographic? Perks are not something that can really be covered by a blanket statement.

 

We offer standard users small PM inboxes album picture storage etc, VIP's at the moment benefit from upgraded amounts of everything more or less.

The audience is teenagers, our site provides help and advice for them as well as a place to hang out and chat

 

For teens, I would offer -
1) Additional avatars to choose from or larger avatars.
2) The ability to customize their profile/blog with images and colors.
3) Stickers for their posts, images they can stick in their posts like smilies. Would require code modification though.
4) Access to Awards and images they can have in their profile. Could work with the Sticker idea
5) A music player that they can embed in their profile/blog and play their songs.
6) MySpace links and apps in their profile.
7) Branded Gear for your forums. Well everyone should have access to buy this but if they subscribe, they get a free t-shirt or ball cap. Could even be actual stickers to put on lockers, notebooks, etc... Or better yet, magnets for inside lockers.

If you have a large enough audience try to negotiate a coupon with a store like hottopic.com or similar that subscribers get as a gift for subscribing.

I love the stickers idea, I used to love sticking stickers on anything and everything as a teen and I am sure teens today will still do the same
