As administrators, we work with a wide variety of people on a daily basis - whether they're dedicated members who are truly passionate about the community, or members who choose to act immaturely and cause trouble on a consistent basis. Yet, there are always those select members that are somewhat "out of the ordinary", or "strange" to an extreme (i.e. making stalker-like comments, threatening other members, posting awkward images and/or pictures).

If you've had to deal with these members, please share your experience(s).

We once had a man of about 26 years old on our teen forums. We were happy for him to post and join in with this advice etc but he began commenting on members pictures and eventually led to his banning.

Definately, we were shocked when he uploaded a picture of himself as his avatar too as he was posting like any one else at first :D

I've had a few slightly creepy members, but I wouldn't characterize them all as dangerous... most were more pathetic and lonely than anything else. I just try to engage them on a purely superficial level and never tell them anything personal.

This is the first thing that crosses my mind when I hear Teen forum. How do you keep out the pervs? There is no way of really verifying the age and make sure their not coming on to the kids using PMs. I would end up banning everyone lol

Did he publicly tell other members that he was younger than he actually was, or did he admit to being 26 years of age?

Oh he put 26 and and I am here to help with advice etc with being older and stuff like that which was fair enough as we have had a person who was 36 on purely to help teenagers who was genuine, but in this case he started commenting on pictures etc saying rather odd stuff so he got the hammer.

... and the very fact that he would post such comments publicly is sickening. These are the people whom I'm referring to exactly.

We were disturbed by his comments to be honest, they may not have been graphic comments but a 26 year old saying "cute" this and that is WRONG!

Kuri the ex admin of Pisoga was a pedophile. He was this 23 yr old guy who watch anime that had loli in them. He also hit on almost all the girls that were 13-15 and e-dated a 16 year old.

*The term loli means a girl who looks like a child and it's between the ages of 7-15

Have had a few members who must think were 4chan or something... Weird comments by weird people only get weird ban reasons.

Personally, I've had one weird member on a forum, and that was my friend being an idiot and making some crappy bot.

Did anyone warn him he was freaking people out? Some people might be harmless but have no sense of boundaries.

Thats the thing no one cared for his presence until he began commenting on pictures etc he seemed like he was a genuine older chap lending his ears to those younger than him.

I guess he felt he had established himself and didn't realize his comments were changing the general perception of him.
