    Do you have templates that you use to deal with certain issues? Perhaps when you ban or infract a member you use a template. Feel free to post your templates here. :)

    I have canned responses for cookie trouble, lost password, manual account activation, and misdirected private messages.

    Umm, when I ban a member I usually send a PM.

    Hey, {username}

    You have been banned for X days because of {the thing that happened to get him/her banned}. Next time please follow the rules[link] and avoid any confrontation.

    Thank you!

    I use the following

    Reply to PM via email

    For vendors trying to post with no agreement in place

    I have yet to find a need for others at this point, I'm sure as the site grows I'll need to add more.

    Infraction system sends out a PM with our listed reason; we can also send a pm. Usually I don't unless the person PM's me about it (which is more often than not).

    I think I've only used a "canned" response once or twice over my career as an administrator - I generally tend to respond with personal messages each and every time (as crazy as that may sound).

    That sounds supah crazy!...... not really x.x It's nice to hear from the admin personally rather than some template used.

    Some users after I have sent them the warning have responded to me asking questions and I respond to all of their questions. Kind of lets the users know the admin cares and that he/she IS there.

    Precisely. :)

    Regardless of whether or not a member has been issued an infraction or a ban, I'll generally find it in me to give he/she the "time of day", so to speak.

    Well, I try to make my "canned responses" look as if they were personally written. Except the "accidentally replied by email to PM" one, there I think the user would rather believe it was an automatic response.
