Chatroom

Hey
A forum that I go on has recently gotten rid of their chatroom, and a lot of the users are wanting one organised, which I have taken charge of. I have the admins permission to organise one.
I'm wondering if there is a chat application that I can create a room and direct users to the url, or if any one has any other suggestions as to how I can organise this?
I love flash chat.
I would rather not spend money on this.

But I was more hoping for one where I didn't have to host it etc. Its not for my forum and it would go against the rules of the forum I'm doing it for to host it on my website and advertise that chat on their forum.

 

all thhat is needed is someplace to point people to a link. that link could be displayed on a webpage (anyone's webpage), in a forum signature, or even by emailing the link to friends.

the chat-software company's URL is in the link. you click the link, and a chatroom opens.

one forum i am on has an unoficial chat room on this website, you can keep it to members only by putting the link and password in a members only part of the forum.

 

I'm not sure I understand all that. Will I need to make a link to install the software to?

 

Why not just create an IRC chat room?
