I've noticed a strange problem for a couple of days now, and that is that the browser history appears to be modified by the "view thread" page generator:

    View attachment 5099
That has the effect that the user is unable to hit the back button on the browser and instead might choose to close the browser window.

Many browsers show the history when you hold the back button click for a few seconds (like Opera does in the screenshot), but I bet many users don't know about this.

Might be a bug in the current Opera version for Linux ... with the current Firefox, it apparently doesn't happen. Or it could be that the script generates a page with bugs for the Opera browser.

I upgraded the single sign on mod a few days ago, other then that we haven't made any changes to the network.
I'll check the error logs and see if anything stands out.
Do you usually use opera, has it upgraded recently?
Does the same thing happen on Admin Talk by chance?

    thx @Monster

    Thanks! :)

Yup, it's Opera 11.64, I'll check if an older version would work. I'll also see if it occurs on AdminTalk. I'll keep you updated! :)

I tested Admin Talk, so far I couldn't reproduce the error there. It could also be a problem with the General Forums database (a side effect of the many mergers with other forums). It doesn't happen with every thread in every subforum. When I find time, I'll try to figure out which subforums of General Forums are affected. When I have figured that out, I'll try an earlier version of Opera.

Oh the mergers shouldn't effect anything to be honest, those are all one big database as far as the forum is concerned.
If we have errors it's most likely an issue with an outdated plugin or permissions configuration.
I'll check over the plugins to see if anything needs updated or if we need to optimize the tables for some reason.

After installation of Opera 12, the problem appears to have vanished. :)

So, I guess, it was indeed a bug in 11.64 or some incompatibility that is now fixed.
