Check out who is the best of last year: http://www.forum-software.org/best-forum-software-of-2010 Vote for the best of this year: http://www.forum-software.org/vote-for-best-forum-software-of-2011
Yea I saw that, then Xenforo was second and IP.Board was third, I wonder how it will change as the voting goes on
Not really. They just had a huge drive that was similar to this one. http://xenforo.com/community/threads/did-you-vote-xenforo.11325/ The only difference is the XenForo guys didn't vote that much. I ran one for MyBB and they won last year.
I think they really nailed it last year with IPB being the best paid and MyBB being the best free, and to be honest I'd have to say that they both still deserve to win this year. XF is nowhere near as feature-rich or complete a package enough to challenge IPB yet (though give it a year or two and that might be a different story). WBB though...blech. It doesn't deserve to win at all, and the fact that it's only winning because they're running a drive to get people to vote doesn't make it a fair competition at all.
Well compared to the ratio of xenforo to ipb users, I am not surprised to see IPB win, maybe if they had a similar user base then we could have seen which one would have been the actual winner. As for this year you guys know which one I voted for already
I voted XenForo, hope it wins, but it won't. Compared to what Woltlab Burning Boards has, nothing can win at this point. I've never even heard of Burning Boards until now, and it doesn't look like anything special.
rather than say what ones we have voted for, why don't we all expand on what ones we have voted for an why???
IP.Board is just awesome. It's got all the features I like to see in forum software, such as multiple ways to register, the option of installing a good blog system, great themes, an intuitive ACP full of options, and it's just a pleasure to use MyBB, it's also awesome for free software, decided to use it after trying SMF1 and phpBB3, and I stuck with it. None of the others really could compare to it. At the time, the only two forums I was on used vBulletin, and I was trying to provide a lot of the same features it had because I was bringing a few members over from there, today I know better.
I voted for IP.Board! I've had some good experiences with this. However I'm not too familiar with all the other ones so I can't really compare and contrast.
