Best Default Theme

Which forum script (MyBB, vBulletin, IP.Board, phpBB, etc.) do you think has the best default theme/style? Which is your favorite?

I think the IP.Board 3 style is very nice, but it's a bit too much, in my opinion; vBulletin's style is ancient but simple (and I'm fine with it, but wish for something more); phpBB and SMF are horrendous; and MyBB isn't too bad.
What are your thoughts?

 

The default theme of IP.Board 2.x.x remains as my favorite. IP.Board 3.x.x has a nice appearance, but overall, it looks a bit disorganized.

Then after that I'd say IPB 2.x, then vB 3.x and then phpBB 3.

 

Somewhat clean, but I find the topic rollover pop-up to be intensely annoying.

 

Yeah I only just noticed that, VERY annoying :lol:

Also I think the text should be a little bigger.

 

And also, the "Board Statistics" section looks horribly messy - almost as if it were simply thrown on there without care.

 

I actually kind of like the default phpBB3 theme. There, I said it...

 

I see what you mean, but I don't think it looks bad. Just not as good as vB and IPB.

And Soliloquy, I don't mind it either :p

I would like the default IPB 3.x if it wasn't so huge and bulky. I like MyBB's default theme.

 

As much as I love MyBB's default theme, I'm really looking forward to seeing something new and fresh - crisp and professional, if that makes any sense whatsoever.

 

Supposedly MyBB 2.0 will make people turn heads, with Justin S. designing, if he designs it, I'm sure it will.

 

There's no question about it. Justin is an incredibly talented designer, and utilizing his services to create and develop a "fresh" design would be in MyBB's best interest.
