Alien Soup LITE Skin Now Available!

Howdy, Campers.

I'm pleased to announce that Alien Soup's LITE Skin is now available. For those with dial-up (what's wrong with those people, eh!) and for those who want less 'fat', give it a whirl!

To view it, visit your Settings area, then select Edit Options on the tool bar, then scroll to the bottom of the page where you'll see a pulldown menu and select the alien soup lite style! That's it! We're still tweaking a little bit here and there, so forgive us if you see any minor bugs.

A special thank you to d2alio for this lite design, and Xelation for working on all the complex coding for us.

What's in store for the future?

1) Wait until you get a look at Alien Soup's third skin (our completely new default in the works with many enhancements and much faster load times).

2) Promotion, promotion, promotion!

We also have two new additional projects in the works that will be part of a potential new community network.

Currently they are:

plasmatalk.com - Plasma and everything flatscreen community.

fringefactor.com - A UFO and Paranormal discussion forum.

although i can't find anything

and i'm not on dialup

but i'll stick with it for a while just to shake things up, and see how well i can find my way around!

tip: the "abductees online" thing in the top right should be a link to "who's online"...

i kinda miss the drop-down menus, but i guess that's a logical sacrifice to make for bandwidth reasons

in any case, i like it

 

Giving it a go for a while, let you know what i think after a bit...

BTW: The origin text under a user's name in the post is an aweful color when the background is the light-grey. It makes it rather difficult to read too.

Working on the bug fixes this weekend, thanks folks.

 

i've switched back to the default skin... i missed the drop-down menus too much

but it'll definitely be nice when i'm at home on dialup over the summer

yes, me too. i'm on the slowest dialup left on earth, and these pages are still loading fine. *phew*!

 

Okay, this lite skin is now our default since it was much quicker to translate it to the new software.

This will be a temporary default, as our new default skin will look quite a bit better with a new color scheme, graphics, and mascot. Ah, changes! Once that design is done (and yes, it will be quick to load and be up for at least 1 year), then we'll be focusing on content and a lot of customizations in the software.
