Colors could be better

Alien,

I'm not bitching or anything, (well yeah I am actually) and I think I like the new feel of the site, but the colors are still terribly depressing. I swear sometime I feel like ending it all after a long day of purusing the forums. Lighten it up a bit! Please!! I think your user retention and active members would pick up if things were a bit lighter (colorwise). This, of course, is just IMHO.

I like these colors. They tie in with aliens because of their mysterious glowing green eyes.

Always open to options, though can't please everyone's color palette. I get alot of mail every day on the favorable side, but I hear they're all just on monochrome monitors. .

The green-scheme itself is OK, but for the messages, the dark green background for the alternating messages backgrounds is TOO DARK. My suggestion would be to use the current light green as the "dark" color and a much lighter green (or white?) background for the alternating light color.

Hows about that??

The reason I mention this is because I have noticed how much easier on the eyes "other" sites are for browsing messages. They "feel" more firendly (even though they really are not).

Don't get jealous, I only look and don't touch! .

The dark green is a little dark, I'll see if I find a shade more pleasing to the eye. .

Someone was right once when they named the shade 'pea soup'. Hehehe.

Instead of changing the background color, might I suggest chaninging the font color? I rather like the greens, but the black blends a little too well with the darker shade .

I still say the colors are a little too "institutional" as in prison, or mental health facility. We realy do not want that association, do we? It fits, but it is not the image we want prospective users to walk away with when they leave...

Please lighten it up a lot...

Colors are being played around with on my test version, I'll see if I come up with something that matches a bit better with the lighter green.

However, if people feel they're in an institution, that means they can't leave until we say so! .

i think you should have a palette somewhere where you can choose what colors you want and save it as a cookie

like there will be a list of them, and you click one and it brings up a demo page of how the site would look with those colors and you can pick one blah blah blah
