    Hey Y'all!

My real name Gina, and I’m very pleased to join you all in this special forum. This is my very first post at The Gazebo. I figured I ought to begin at the beginning, so here's my introduction. No hecklers, please, lol.

I was born in Panama City, Florida to parents who were also born in Panama City, Florida. At least five generations of my family have been Southerners. Beyond that, my ancestry is half Irish and half British, but for some reason I identify more with my Irish side.

Some of the things I enjoy are books, nature, music, history, psychology, math, and science-- and about once a season I like to get a little drunk, muhahaha! I appreciate people with strong opinions who aren’t afraid to disagree with me, because that’s how I’ve learned some of my most valuable lessons. But of course, like everyone, I also like to be told that I’m right!

This past December I graduated from Gulf Coast Community College with an A.A. degree in pre-elementary education (summa cum laude honors-- straight A's all the way through, thank you very much!). I was accepted into FSU's Education program but then decided that the life of a public school teacher wasn't what I wanted, so I stopped right there in order to get myself figured out.

I married my dear husband in September 1990 and have been completely love-struck ever since. And btw, we're both Christians.

I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone and having a little posting fun!

    Welcome Gina.

I'm also a native Floridian however I was born and lived in South Florida till one year ago. When we made the move to Tennessee.

I too have a bit of the Irish...

Congratulations on finishing your degree... even if its not quite what you want.. I'm sure you'll figure it out.

You'll enjoy posting here. I have...

:rainbowwelcome: Gina, Glad you joined the group. Congrats on getting your AA but good for you for trying to figure out what you really do want to do with your life.

Oh, and I fixed your registration...you can post in the entire forum now.

You will find that we are an interesting group, small but interesting. Liz

    Thanks for the welcome!

MrsHeat, I love south Florida. We were married in Ft. Myers. So many museums and lovely beaches. It was great!

And Liz, thanks for fixing me up! James has told me how great the people are in this forum and I think it's just what I've been looking for!

Yeah, I managed to haul James in here a few years back...he keeps popping in and out. He helps me keep my Computer section up to date. :)

You will typically find us chatting over here every day. That's the Daily Board and where we meet every day.

But since this board is so general, you will find us posting all over. Liz

Welcome, Gina! Congrats on the excellent grades and you should be proud to have that degree even if you have found it isn't exactly what you want to do in life. Good luck in your search.

My husband and I live in NJ with our daughter (19) who is going into her junior year in college; my two stepkids (34 and 31) also live in town.

    We're glad you've found us!

Hi Gina and Welcome to the Gazebo!!

Congrats on such a great CC finish! And now that you have that Degree, you can take some time and really figure out what you want to be "when you grow up" :Coopwink: At least you got all that basic stuff out of the way.

There are two Liz's here--I'm the evil one :Coopwink:

I'm also a misplaced Southerner. LOVE Florida--vacationed and honeymooned in Ft Lauderdale, visited parents in Ft Myers and two sisters in Cape Coral. Ahhh, the sight of a palm tree is the most beautiful thing.

But, noooo, I married a Northern Boy, so here I shiver...this summer has been good, though, nice and hot and humid (and the Gazeboites start throwing things at me....)

Jump right in and make yourself at home here. Glad to have you here

Whoops! I'm a bit late in welcoming you. Had a sizzle-burger T-BOOMER roll through this morning, so I shut things down.

You'll enjoy yourself here. We are a great bunch. Congrats on the degree. Heh heh... I passed my GED in the 99th percentile at the ripe ole age of 55.

We all run amuck around here once and a while. SB (sweet brit, aka. the Brit) and I seem to start most of the controversy.

    Welcome Gina :)

Have to wonder if this is a way of checking on your hubby though ;-p

Honest, we were chatting away at 7.00 am the other day, don't know if either of us realised the time until Bozo stuck her nose in :harhar:

No way! You're right on time!

Way cool for getting your GED at 55! Don't you think school is more fun the older you get? I always read about how much harder it is for older students, but it was the opposite for me. I felt like I had a total advantage. Of course, that goes with the territory when you're competing with a bunch of 18-20 yr olds who are working off a hangover from the night before, lol.

So you and SB are the controversy-stirrers, are you? Well BRING IT ON, LOL!

So that was you?! Dang; I guess I'm going to have to call my neighbor and apologize for a certain threatening phone message-- JK, LOL.

Actually I'm quite used to it. My dh has been an incorrigible night owl for as long as I can remember. You know those creative types; they only thrive so long as they're swimming along to their own current. As long as he's happy, I'm happy.

As far as checking in on him; I guess I've never been a checker in that way. I find that threats of bodily harm and my own general out-of-control jealousy and paranoia work much better and allow me to get to bed on time rather than running the roads. No-- I'm only kidding! The best marriage insurance is a happy home; that's always been my policy.

But what about Bozo? She's my counterpart in this 7am equation. I hope you got in trouble! You bad! You very bad! LOL! :harhar:

If you were bitten by the Irish, it's not likely to wear off, lol. I'm sure you're already feeling the effects...

Let's see... bitten by the Irish, then somehow you ended up in Tennessee, home of the famously smooth Tennessee whiskey. See any connection?

Word of warning: Boys have an inborn attraction to whiskey'd up Irish girls from the South. But that warning probably comes too late. You'll just have to make the best of it, lol! :Coopwink:

Yes, when I steamed up the shower your "help me" message was visible. Then I just followed the sound of cackling laughter, lol.

    Muhahahaha! You bad girl!

I thought I'd misplaced a Southerner somewhere, lol!

Click-click-click... that's the sound of his stock going up!

Splash! (That's the sound of me jumping in!) Thanks again-- I'm glad 2B here. Oops, I already said that. I'm repeating myself again. Not to worry; if I gently bang my head into the wall it usually corrects itself. Usually. Did I mention that I'm glad 2B here... glad 2B here... glad 2B here

Wow, that's a serious problem you have with your foot. Hope it doesn't spread to your hands! LOL!
