Just wondering if there are any game programmers here.

I have not, yet. I have 2 game programming books. One is a couple inches big called "Game Programming All in One" and the other is just as big called "Game Programming in 12 days". I hope I can start reading and learning them soon :)

What kind of game program are you going to create? C++ is computer based.. and idk what the console games are made from, if you got the sony's starter package, you can learn some stuff from there for creating console based games.

I have a friend who is learning php, because he wants to do an MMORPG. He later gave up on that idea. But he continues to learn php, so do something similar to a MMORPG perhaps.

Yeah, I am learning computer games that are soley built for Windows. I am not sure what companies like Rockstar and such use to make their games PS2 compatible and such.

oh yea PC games are sometimes built in C++ if not, the developers own language that the computer can run.

I'm currently going to college to learn Game & Simulation Programming :D (DeVry University) but I haven't gotten to the real courses yet... just a bunch of pre-reqs. But I'd be interested in creating a text based game (probably RPG) if you are?

Yeah Z, DeVry is really a great school. People have the misconception that it's not an accredited University because they DO specialize in computers. They have all the required classes to be a full University, it's just they have the bare minimum to be accepted fully :)

I'm currently undertaking a Double Bachelor Degree in Multimedia and Computer Science at Swinburne University which I intend to use to get into the game industry.

I'm currently trying to teach myself the Unity engine, because we don't learn it in my course (we use the Unreal Engine instead, though I think Unity will probably be better for me). I borrowed a book from the library for developing with it (and it is pretty much the only book available for it) which I'm working my way through.

So yeah, you could call me a games programmer.

Its my dream to make a PC game.

I always tried to learn C++ but something always interferes.

I hope now when I got to my college I will learn a lot about programming there and about web designing. I have been trying to find a teacher for making web templates in Photoshop for a year almost now, I'm about to give up.

I wish you good luck and I'm looking forward to playing a game you make.

    Thanks for the support.

Its just that a lot of people here where I live think games and programing and all that technology is silly and useless and that you cant make money from it.

So I don't have a lot of support.
But I will keep on trying and one day I hope Ill make it.

One of my brothers friends has been making a game, not had chance to play it yet, although it's apparently very good.
