Does the Southwest count?

Just curious. I'm from the great desert state of Arizona. I have a lot of interests, too many to list, although one of my favorite things to do is to grab my laptop and sit in bed and sit up all night communicating with others via forums like this one.

I'm not sure if I could be considered southern or not. I live primarily in Arizona, although on various occasions i've been in either Texas or Missouri. I have traveled to many states, and I've even been to Europe.

    That's enough about me :)

Hi Kal and :welcome: We have at least one other from AZ so yes, it does count, LOL. It may be southwest but it's still south, LOl. Glad you joined us. It gets a little sparse around here late at night, at least until 3 or so in the morning when my England crew starts wandering in. That is, except on weekends when Dereck is around, he's from S. Africa. So we are a rather eclectic bunch gathering under this Southerngazebo.

    Welcome aboard. Liz

Hi Kal and welcome! Like Liz said, AZ is definitely South when one lives in Michigan! Besides, us Northerners like the Southern Hospitality so we're drawn here like flies on honey.
I have a Sister in Law who lives in Chandler. I haven't been there, but my kids have (they LOVED Tombstone). What a beautiful place! *But it's a 'dry' heat* Yeah, I know....it's still blooming hot....they explained it to me....

Where in Europe have you been? I've been to Italy and Denmark, Daughter went to England. I'd go back to Italy in a New York Minute. Gosh, I loved Florence!!

    Hey David!

Cochise. Just north of Tombstone. Maricopa isn't that bad, nothing any different than Cochise County. I was in Northern Arizona just a few weeks ago around Flagstaff and sadly the entire area was just dry. That compared to a few years ago when it was lush and green.

Hi Liz, I've been to Germany, France, and to the Austrian border. Being there only for 2 weeks only puts a diaper on your travels. I have family in Frankfurt, Germany, which is the banking capitol of Germany. I've only been in the Alsace-Lorraine region of France, and I would love to see Paris.

I agree the desert is a beautiful place, and sadly the lack of rain has kept it from really reaching it's potential -- for one, It's been the driest year on record. I was out of the state for about 6 months, so I didn't have time to sit back and notice.

    Another Liz! Thanks!

This is by far the most interesting forum I've been on in a while. There's a very at home feel and it makes me quite comfortable :) I enjoy meeting new people, so I think I came to the right place! I'm glad to know that I can be called a southerner!

Hello from one of the England crew! ;)
I haven't been able to wander in too much recently as I've been dealing with hassles on my own board! Liz's Gazebo is very comfortable (I have my own cushion, but I'll share!), and I hope you like it here.

Welcome, Kal! I live in the northeast of the US (New Jersey) and have never been to Arizona or any of the other southwest states. I've always wanted to travel...maybe one day I'll get to!
