Anyone else find it depressing to look down old topics and see all the now dead forums?

Its a good feeling. The first forum I ever joined I now own. I created a similar site to theirs and they laughed and made fun of my mistakes while building it.

Then when I bought the site I got to read about all their jabs and laughs in the moderator forum. Its all good. I just think its funny now. Some of their comments were spot on as I did make a lot of mistakes. I kept working at it though and the next thing you know I've got one of the largest Mustang sites in the world in an incredibly hard niche to break into.

Hope to take a few more there before its all said and done.

We don't see eye to eye on a lot of stuff but I have always acknowledged you do a great job of the forums you take on, visually and content-wise.

I probably regret closing the majority of my forums. Not all of them as some were there just for the learning of the software ect... the ones that got above a couple of thousand posts shouldn't of closed. But I was uneducated to be truthful and even though I tried to get rid of that 'there must be hundreds of posts a day' attitude, I always felt like I wasn't achieving and gave up. I think only in the recent year I have understood just how much time is needed and although there will be a lot of problems, if you can push through that you are on to a winner.

The way I look at it is that humanity is not that different from the rest of nature in the sense that only the strong survive. Among some species in nature only a tiny fraction even reach maturity, most die before that. Well, it could be that forums are like that too.
