Are you not the same as them two, support staff. In the same boat as them when it comes to what they can and can't do? Yes you are, so one can take away from that based on you not stopping posting about vB, when doing it at the same time as other two. That they have not been told to stop, otherwise all 3 of you would have been told.

You're not being clever Joe trying to keep people guessing, not hard to work that one out.

Well they obviously haven't asked you, so there is that. Just shows more of their incompetence and their control over paid contractors and employees.

I have no problem with not using " Likes" for your posts that I agree with, if it concerns you.

You are obviously unaware of the many emails and PM's I have personally sent to VB staff, And management of VB/IB. As well as Law enforcement and Attorney generals, as well as various hosts, indeed there may be no real reason for you to be aware of many of them.
If you check back through my posts I am sure I have mentioned some. Sorry, but your statement is in error.

Whether other people wish to contact the various "powers that be" to express their concerns is entirely up to them, I have not held a gun against anyone's head to do so. It is their free choice. I have seen where some have said that they sent messages. I doubt if I influenced their decisions.

I would obviously rather that you like or at least understand me, but either way it will not make any difference to me achieving my goals. To the best of my ability I have only posted the truth and the facts as I am aware of them, if this displeases you then so be it.

Thank you for voicing your opinion in a civilized manner.

Well Paul isn't support staff for one, he has different supervisors & managers than support.

Mark was brought on at a different time than I was and I have no idea what may or may not be part of his contact.

Initially the question was "asked" to stop- you are now changing it to "told" to stop...

You don't know and you can't know unless I or VB tells you, neither of us likely will.

Hehehe....you never see development in real time. LOL! That is the truth. With IB, it isn't even like slow motion. It is more like stop-frame animation. You have to take a picture of the progress every week, to be able to see any movement.

Joe, I thought you were on track, but this is another of your quibbling, nothing of importance posts.

Fact is, vB3.8.8 could have been released "gold" (if IB dares to use the term again), several months ago.
Fact is, vB4 is getting NO development work.
Fact is, vB5.1.0 is taking forever.

Ok, they pushed out a buggy vBCloud and are obviously working hard (relatively speaking) on that.

Still, nothing to go home to tell mom about, you know? About the big friggin overall picture of vB development!

Wow, vB3.8.8 went from beta 2 to beta 3. Yippee!

Well, perhaps Joe is helping us more than he thinks. His posts are a clear indication of how bad things really are. Support staff trolling customers? He must be out of things to do, because you know, there's been nothing new to actually support in ages.

vBulletin 3.8 update was a few hours of development for any familiar developer
    vBulletin 4 is a failed attempt at modernizing/updating 3
vBulletin 5 is a failed attempt at upgrading an unfinished product
vBulletin Cloud is a failed attempt at hosting an unfinished upgrade of an unfinished product

Seriously,w hat else does he have to do with his time? I'd be trolling too.

Actually, vBulletin 5 Connect and vBulletin 5 are the same thing.

vBulletin Cloud is the hosting thing

Due to what has happened over the last few years, I doubt anyone with any knowledge of how IB/vB operates would believe anything vB tells us.

As for anything you may say, well after you floated the idea you could be working for them without any payment, I doubt anyone would believe anything you are likely to post, TBH.

First - excuse me for not writing as promised.... been busy.....
This is definitely 'hot' topic as for many post being added here, and as for matter it covers.....

I think that business owner (does not matter whether IT or sth else), should draw some guidelines at starting point and stick to them throughout entire company's business-life.... thats for start..... I am aware of emergency situations like getting out of financial plan as a result of unplanned expenses like someones death and need for hiring new worker or sth, but this should be entirely covered from so called reserve-fund (RF for short) - never ever should unexpected expensess be covered from operational-money (OM) or you will be quickly far behind your planned financial limits. More - the farer you go behind, the more difficult it will be to return to balance...... and it will (sooner or later) lead to buncrapsy of your business and may lead you behind bars (extreme situation but it can happen).

Second thing is that when company decides to make some cash (and profit) by selling its own work (like scripts and such) by means of selling license only, it has to deal with customers (=buyers) in the most professional way possible. Neglecting its customers just because sth went wrong within certain department/management/whatsoever, is not an excuse and as such should not be used.
Its just unimaginable for me such a behaviour towards customers...... Not to mention Id soon be out of work for this......
And thats my opinion on this.....

Not only Joe, but both Mark and Paul also, after seeing Paul abuse many members and Mark acting like a Baby i vowed that VB would never get a penny from me again to help feed these 3 trolls ..

Your definition of "trolling" is a bit off. I could troll if I wanted to- instead what I am doing is correcting mistakes, lies, exaggeration, and other mis-truths. Yes this very much annoys those who post these things and yes they get angry as if they are being trolled, but it doesn't change the fact this isn't trolling.

Real trolling would quickly get me banned.

@up - with all due respect - your messages starts to become 'real trolling' (your words) so you'd better stop going this way, or you will get banned (not by me).....

Would the proper "support answer" be "I don't know, but I can certainly find out for you" or "I don't know offhand, but here's the search parameters in Jira or link to Jira where you can directly view them" ?

Or more likely, you're only not being banned/punished because Admin Talk is a really relaxed forum when it comes to what's allowed and what isn't.

Or perhaps because forum owners often seem to make the same mistake as the BBC and journalists when it comes to things with two sides; assume there's a genuine controversy or disagreement rather than an overwhelmingly supported factual truth that a small minority disagree with. Kind of like the 'teach the controversy' crap that goes on with creationism in the media.

I'm totally aware what the proper answer was, and if you asked on vBulletin.com while I was "on duty" I would have done just that.

When I am here I am on personal time- don't confuse what I do here with vBulletin support- this is not a support forum.

Well stop answering topics like you are on vBulletin giving support. You can't have it both ways to suit you. And lets face it, the vBulletin topics are all you post in mainly here, on TAZ and AX. For somebody who claims they're posting on their personal time away from vB, you do a grand job of keep picking vB topics only to reply back on like your still at work.

Guess your not interested in nothing else eh?
