While browsing the web scouting out for more, cheaper hosting companies, I had come across a fishy looking service called HostBandit, offering unlimited storage and bandwidth for a shockingly measly $1 a month.

From first glance, I would assume this to be a scam, they will "bandit" your money away.

But it could be a real hosting company offering cheap hosting to try and set themselves apart from the crowd.

    What do you think?

They have like 7 people on it that wasn't scammed so their websites are on it.

I guess cheap hosting is too good to be true.

Ah well, hosting is fairly inexpensive these days. Domain price is what we will have to worry about, quality domains are running low and when we are old we will tell our grandchildren we could get domains for $10, just like candy used to be a penny.

Oh look, how suspicious. Old topic gets bumped two years later by someone with a webhosting related name that talks about how great the service is, and when describing a shady looking host to boot.

But seriously though. Host Bandit? That's the exact kind of name you should be seeing as a giant warning symbol, not one to ever trust.

They seem like bogus complaints. Anyone can fill out a complaint form, that's the problem.

It seems that they could be genuine complaints as well. I will keep checking.

No they don't... just read them. They are all the same guy posting fake complaints. Totally bogus complaints. HOSTBANDIT is legitimate and a great company. I've been using HostBandit for years!

Interesting, can you post the name of the websites that you use this company on to back up your claim?

I find it funny that this thread gets bumped after sitting idle for 2 and 1/2 years and then a group of people show up to debunk the claims and all of them posted basically the same thing.

I am closing this thread. If anyone has information to prove that this host is/isn't on the up and can prove it then I will re-open the thread on request.
