You hit the nail it on the head. Kier was a 3D graphics designer and got his fame as a vbulletin hacker. Same for all the original team hired by John with the exception of Mike who had a background in programming and Freddie who created some mods that became core functions of vbulletin like the PM system.

Kier came on board a little later and as far as I remember he and TubeDogg ran vbulletin.org, but, didn't contribute much in the way of mods. If you remember TubeDogg and another vbulletin.org member started Hivemail which later failed when the developer, who I can't for the life of me remember his name, went into service for his country.

Interestingly enough Hivemail remained as a money grab for a year or so after development stopped because TubeDogg would come on from time to time and post rambling announcements that said nothing. Story sound familiar?

Later Scott was hired by Kier and he along with Mike and Freddy were the ones that made vbulletin into what it was. I truly beleive we would have never seen vbulletin 3 if not for Scott and Mike. You see Kier has to surround himself with talented people that like to stay in the background. That way he can get all the glory. Now that Mike seems to have left Kier with his limited coding skills had 2 choices. Man up like TubeDogg did in the day or do what he is doing and go on vacation ignoring your customers all the while hoping another talented coder falls for his lies and comes on board.

That's him. He was very talented and was recruited by John also. In fact I think that if he had accepted no one would know Kier today.

Mert, since you're involved in the lawsuit have you heard or been read into anything about a settlement?

I understand if you can't comment I'm just curious. After all any settlement, if what David posted is true, would affect you.

Shows how good my memory is. I posted that from what I remember from the old days. I was involved with vbulletin while John was developing it.

Theres a lot of info that paints vBulletin in a negative light in there, PRIOR to the sell to IB.

Like John (pretty sure it was John, might have been james) lying to Internet Brands about the status and development for vBulletin 4, which is what IB based their decision to buy vBulletin on.

If there is any truth in what David posted , i will never forgive any of Xenforo owners as i have zero information about it. In fact i heard nothing from any Xenforo owner since my name was included to the law case. I was following things with myself and my legal representatives.

John was not involved with vBulletin for a very long time. All pre sale interaction with Internet Brands was handled by james

Exactly. John left Jelsof, he still owned the company with James and just stopped developing it, shortly after he finished 2.0 and hired on the new devs. James was always the business man and John the coder.

It's a shame you're treated that way, but, doesn't surprise me one bit knowing Kier.

I tried sending your a PM AWS but it wouldn't let me!

Is there a way to access that court case system and see if there are any sealed documents that i could grab screenshots of and add to this article.

    Thanks!

Dohh. Had a 50 PM limit set for admin group. Must have never looked at the settings after the last upgrade. Seems the upgrade defaulted a bunch of settings.

I don't know if I still have access. The attorney might have removed my access since the case is over.

No problem, didn't know if there was some other way to access it or not.

    Thanks though!

You can buy a subscription I think, but, it will not give you access to private docs unless you get an account set up by an attorney. I am not sure how it works, but, after my deposition I was given access to all the locked motions.
