I was about to go do some vB work for a client, and I needed to access vBulletin.org for some modifications, but it is loading painfully slowly and is essentially rendered unusable. Anybody know how long it's been going on, and if any vB official has made any information available, perhaps through Twitter or something?
Been slow for at least three hours so far, that I've been on-line. Seems a bit of a routine these past few months, though, doesn't it; once a week or so? I wish we could get the inside scoop on what exactly is making the server(s) unhappy like this. I'd love to hear that they're simply upgrading during these times, but three hours doesn't seem like the likely time span to fit that story.
isn't that always the case..lol I went to look up a mod for a question I saw posted and I gave up waiting  IDK how long it's been like that
In the past few weeks, vbulletin.com has gotten so slow the pages time out. .org does not seem to be "that" bad. Between the 2 sites, I think .com is loading a lot slower.
^lol !! There is another thread here at AA where someone mentioned the slowness. It was due to the shared databases and of course...the high number of queries. At least that is what I think I remember being the reasons. Paul M I think was the one...? If not, then I'm mistaken and you can ignore my message after the 2 "!!". http://www.adminaddict.net/forum/vbulletin/vbulletin-org-slow-5493/
Sometimes I get even a blank page no other times both .com and .org load at somewhat normal speed. It maybe an issue with the new series 4 optimization.
I noticed it was really slow a little over a week ago as well, vb.org I mean. Not sure what's going on over there... I basically never go to vb.com forum anymore though.
i wonder...just maybe...if they gained more guests online at one time than they expected...and its overloading their server?
It was said (by Paul M, I think) that vB.org uses the main database server rather than the slave, so it's buckling under the pressure of vB.com's increased activity. EDIT: Post - http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/show...is-sloooooow&p=1913098&viewfull=1#post1913098
I doubt a sudden slowness like yesterday has much to do with increased activity, more like some actual issue with the server.
