I just noticed this, which is displayed when downloading 3.8 or earlier from the member's area: Nothing special... just thought I'd point it out.
do u happen to know what changed? i guess this part if the major thing? can't stop me from calling it Jelsoft!!!
What confuses me is this: Is there a difference between vBulletin and vBulletin™? If not, then how is it a trademark of both Jelsoft and vBulletin Solutions, Inc.?
vBulletin is a Registered Trademark in the UK, registered to Jelsoft which became a subsidiary of Internet Brands during the buyout. vBulletin is a Trademark in the US, which is currently held by vBulletin Solutions, also a subsidiary of Internet Brands. Legal mumbo jumbo.
I just know someone is going to say how this license change is legally problematic or illegal or something.
So you'd not really notice this unless you went to download and read it, correct? Meaning there was/is no email sent to notify of such an Amendment? (I didn't get one)
So If I did this: Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft Jelsoft I am breaking rules?
All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:04 PM. Powered by vBulletin®, ©2000 - 2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. are they gonna make all of us change our footers??
I don't think this is going to be enforceable at all: vBulletin Solutions may amend the Agreement at any time. Any such amendment(s) shall be binding and effective one (1) day after posting of the Amendment on vBulletin.com’s website. If any change is unacceptable to you, your only recourse is to terminate your license under the Agreement. Your continued use of the vBulletin.com’s website and services following notice to you of a change shall constitute your acceptance of the change. For the record, this is one of the reasons I kept my old license, which will never be updated again.
As an aside who's happy that vB 4 has a link to vBulletin in the footer's copyright area? We always had to leave the copyright intact (unless we bought branding free) but never had a link there before. I removed the link on my 4.0 board, had to do so via the phrase manager.
Could not care less about that, to be honest. People don't seem to mind when vBSEO does it, so vBulletin may as well do it.
I will have to say this, this is creating a new contract. So, to add one more contract, therefore definately not invalidating your former contract, if you live in the UK, at least :/
I won't mind the link being there, but I will change it so it opens in a new window. I don't have external links that grab the same window, not under any circumstances. It leads visitors off your site and some of them can't find their way back again.
