Spelling errors are my greatest pet-peeve. Grammar, not so much... because too many people on the Internet are of a foreign tongue or dialect.

Then and than are also often misused, which is irritating.

"I'd rather take the scenic route then the quick, boring route."
    and
"If you don't like using my computer, than buy your own."

Ah, yes - the use of a preposition at the end of a sentence. "Who are you sending it to?" should be "To whom are you sending it?"

I don't see this in writing too often, but it is a common error in speaking.

On a side note to that. The bad use of literal terms are my annoyance buttons. Tell me how someone can send it back to me when I never had it in the first place.

Happy Holidays is what came about to be 'politically' correct. I'm neither religious or jewish. However I still say Merry Christmas. The calendar says the 25th is Christmas so I hope everyone's is MERRY! I know mine will be. :lmao:

Ditto. But the spirits are high.

    Could you be more American?

    Heres my list:

'trunk' when they really mean 'boot' of a car
'flashlight' when they really mean 'torch'
'hood of the car' when they really mean 'bonnet'
'color' when it should be spelled 'colour'

If I know somebody is Jewish, I'll wish them a happy Hanukkah; otherwise, they'll hear Merry Christmas. It's upsetting to see people trying to oust the use of Merry Christmas (as well as other Christian foundations) and force everybody to remain neutral.

Erm, not forcing, no one is holding a gun against anyones forehead. I posted that as my experience, if you guys don't like it, fine, but I was just sharing what happened to me.

No no, that comment wasn't directed towards you. It's just that in America, certain groups of people make it a point to neutralize everything and criticize "Merry Christmas" wishes.

You don't like any of those words? Or the ones which are technically wrong?
