Since these pre-sales seem to be never-ending, I have no clue when the current one ends. Does anybody know?
i dont see what the big fuss is. I held a leased license and i got the whole package for 160.00. Thats a great deal imo. Im glad they did extend it cuz i tried ordering it on nov 16th (when it was set to expire) and the prepaid visa i bought wasnt working...so I lucked out and they extened the sale. Phew...
I think leased license customers were able to swing a pretty good deal in this sale. I upgraded my leased license for $130, and this was after the first sale period was over - it was where it went up to $160 supposedly. As far as the sale, I expect it to continue until they launch a gold version. At that time it will probably inch up another little bit, or at least shortly thereafter.
Maybe the license sales haven't been quite so stellar after all? No matter what they will have you believe, companies don't give up profit margin just because they're nice guys. They give it up to attract potential customers.
Yeah same here....which was one of the reasons I stopped moaning and complaining. I did really, really well out of it actually. I've now got future access to a high end - arguably THE high end - forum software in the market, plus the CMS and blog, for peanuts. It's driving me potty and I don't understand most of it yet - but that never stopped me when I moved to vB3!
IDK about that, I remember reading that the new sales have been above and beyond their expectations. The 3rd round of "pre-sale" does sound a bit weird though.
Thats probably just a tactic to make others think that people are comfortable updating, which I think is likely. Most people I know have no intention of upgrading, and are looking at securing things themselves, or looking at an alternative.
oh really? most people that contact me want to upgrade to the beta already :uhh: I keep trying to tell them to at least wait for gold and I'll be happy to help them.
We're all within the same niche, or a similar one, and use similar modifications, so I think they're waiting till I upgrade so they can request anything I changed for things to work -.-. They did that with 3.6 -> 3.7 :shrug:
