Just bought my first bluray player and its awesome. Now I need a BluRay burner. Anyone have any suggestions for a good one thats affordable?
going to be for a desktop system, though if there are affordable firewire/eSATA bluray drives available I'd be open to one of them
Definitely look on NewEgg. Don't like the idea of firewire powered devices when it comes to digital data.
Ended up going with:Newegg.com - LG Black 8X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 5X DVD-RAM 6X BD-ROM 2MB Cache 8X Blu-ray Burner - Bulk Model WH08LS20K - Blu-Ray Burners Now I shouldn't need 54923 DVD's to take a decent backup
I was thinking about that one, too. I can't decide if I want to just get a reader for now and upgrade to a burner later on cause right now I just want to make screencaps of certain movies. I didn't even think of the backup aspect. :o
I would have went for a liteon drive as I understand that they use plextor components in their drives which are very solid. All I buy rom wise is plextor and liteon.
Thanks! If that's true, then it's good to know because I know Plextor has a very good reputation (although they charge for it, too).
