vBSEO Show Threads (.html question)

Is there a benefit to using .html at the end of the showthread pages? I'm looking into vBSEO, and I'm not really sure what adding the .html does.

(Sorry for this "no brainer" question; I'm still learning about SEO.)

A few last questions for everyone: What is preferred between forum id and forum title? Does one have a benefit over the other in terms of indexing on search engines?

I don't think one is better than the other, but it can't hurt to have the keywords in the URL - so using forum titles is my preference (as you can see here at AA).

The extension you use doesn't matter much. However you want to make sure that your "directory" structure isn't very deep. Most search engines only list the first three directories. In a dynamic site this shouldn't be a problem but if you do something like:

site.com/category/forum/subforum/thread

Then you can create an issue.
