I thought I'd contribute something unique to this forum. What rolled off my tongue (fingers) as I was about to say Google Search in THIS post, was actually Gearch. So I thought, hmmmmmm, let's do it. So, if anybody could be so kind as to say 'Gearch' instead of 'Google Search' as often as you remember (or fancy) then please do join in with me on the Gearch Mission. I'll be counting the use of the word Gearch and letting you all (or just me) know how many I've spotted. If you spot one, please PM me or copy the URL to the post and reply to this topic perhaps? So far, excluding the 'Gearch's' above the count is just 1. Make this lonely 1 a 2 and we'll be laughing. I've had to sacrifice a signature link or two to enable me to link to this. So please please please help. And if you wouldn't mind linking to www.UKPlumbersForums.co.uk in your signature (which comes with unlimited personal kudos), that'd be smashing. -- p.s. I've had to add it to my Google spellchecking dictionary. Couldn't stand all that read on my page!!!
C'mon. This has been a few days now and not even the regulars have pleased me with a single Gearch between you. Pretty please?
I don't even say 'Google Search'. I just say 'Google'. To 75% of all people I know, Google is synonymous with search. They don't know that Google offers anything else besides search. So Google equals Search in their mind. They wouldn't use Google for anything else.
Well said Wayne Luke. To be honest I too say Google (or Google it). But on my own forums I try to explain what I mean quite a bit (as we can get a bit techie and my forums are full of 45 year old tradesmen that haven't used one before) so I just said (or was meant to say) Google Search here, but said Gearch in my head and nearly typed it. But for the sake of getting a bit of a comminity 'saying' here. Perhaps you'd care to say it, just once, so I can knock my count up one. You didn't even say it in your post. So the count, for at least another day, is still at 2. Boo-hoo. Would have been cool if somebody other than Dave said it. I'd have thought all the effort posting about it was worth it then. But after checking back in 3 days time I find nobody has even replied to my explaination of it, let alone said it. tut.
Very true, Wayne. Google is actually a verb (as of a couple of years ago ) so I always -- just like many others -- just say "Google it".
Excellent. We're on 7 lads and ladies. ** sticks middle finger up to those that think it's ridiculous ** *** gives extra special thanks to those that said it, even once *** FYI: It was just for fun, did you really think I was trying to attempt to change 'Google Search' to 'Gearch' forever?! I just wanted some community activity, I'm an Admin!
http://www.adminaddict.net/forum/domains-hosting-servers/dot-net-org-com-2488/#post33319 got one here. And there's one here: http://www.adminaddict.net/forum/general-community-discussion/quiters-2519/#post33611
Gearch - search engine Is this subtle marketing for Gearch??? - It's a search engine powered by google that donates advertising revenue to saving trees: Just starting out but could use as much help as it can get!
http://www.adminaddict.net/forum/ge...-queries-searched-your-forums-3791/#post47074 I'm sure i'm out of count now but there's another one ^^^ When I have more time I'll go through the posts properly and have a good count. I think we might be talking a good 15 now in all, not the 10 quoted in my sig. Thanks to all for letting your hair down and keep it up, it helps........ well, it helps nothing actually but hey-ho.
