Man I hope they don't add a CMS. That should be an addon product if it ever comes. Same with blogs and all the other crap that ruined vBulletin and most sites don't use. No bloat!

I agree with @BamaStangGuy in that it's obvious by the first HYS that drag and drop functionality is now included. We can only wonder how far that will go by the XenForo people and modders once it's released.

If they added the backend code for one thing it can easily be used for others. If they don't somebody will.

If they don't make that work for nodes and do for smilies I will really have to rethink their development mindset... lol

Yeah, that would be odd. But much like the rest of the xenforo js library, they will likely make it a very reusable function. Just like OverlayTrigger.

My view on the CMS thing is just to leave it to the add on developers to create. As you said, it would be bloat if added in the core.

I think they could make a great CMS as long as they make it completely separate and not go down the route of vBulletin where they tried to package things together in a publishers suite or something like that. Just keep it simple and separate like Invision Powers does

That's what i mean everything should be separate you do not want to bloat the core that needs to be small and fast but powerful.

You know, whatever the XF guys do, they won't 'bloat' anything.
Search for Kier's posts on what actually constitutes bloat, or more importantly, what doesn't.
You can be sure that if they made a CMS, it wouldn't be 'bloat', even if some people thought it was.

Indeed but i was talking about the core (forum) what ever they make next it should be like the Resource Manager that they have small but powerful.

Not for me to say really as although I have an expired license, I'm not a XF customer. So anything I say should really be disregarded.

However, I do think if they make a CMS it should be a paid add on like the resource manager. They need to focus on revenue streams and I think people would pay for stuff like a CMS.

If I don't want a CMS and I am forced to pay more for it as a package and download it and turn it off while it sits there on my site unused then it is indeed the admins definition of bloat. I doubt they will do that though. How they handled the RM is pretty much an good indicator on how they would handle other extensions in the future if and when they do.

I would like to see more conversions available. I read many posts on their site about people wanting to change to xf but there is no built in conversion for their forum script.

I would like to see a built in no-login unsubscribe link in email footers that meet all standards demanded by providers.

I see the same old thing, just like what happened at vBulletin before when KAM was in charge their. No CMS or Gallery ever came, even though people wanted them. Same thing again, they created an RM "which they needed", only reason they released that - same as the Bug Tracker thing before on vB they needed to track bugs.

But when it comes to other stuff like CMS and Gallery, they never get created as official add-ons.

Honestly, now that Xenforo seems to have gotten its mojo back, I would love to see a stronger admin panel. I haven't used the latest updates since i switched back to IPB but things always seemed more organized with IPB admin panel vs the Xenforo one.

Heck, if they add in a Chat app, I just as well may convert back to XF :P
