I know that there are a lot of things that Google will punish you for, as far as SEO and stuff like that goes, but exchanging traffic - and by that I just means exchanging views to your site - seems to be the lesser crime of them all from what I have heard.

I use sites like Customhits to boost my website's views, so that Google will rank me higher in SERPS. I can't really give any results to how it has turned out yet, as I am still going through the process of exchanging traffic.

Have you ever used traffic exchange sites to boost traffic? And how beneficial is it?

I'm using a traffic exchange site called "PokerAdFactory" on my site. It's a banner exchange for poker ads. I just started using it, but I've noticed a boost in my traffic.

I don't believe in this though of thing, I mean the people you are exchanging with are only there to get more points so they in turn can receive more hits back to their own site. But the downside is they aren't actually engaging in your site or getting you quality page views which is also what Google is tracking and looking for in order to rank you higher.
So if your getting heaps of new traffic but there only staying for 5 seconds (or however long you have to on your specific exchange) then it makes it seem like your website is bad.
I would use this method with caution...

I'm using TrafficSwarm and EasyHitz4U but I don't know yet if driving traffic that way to my site is helping or not. I'll continue this traffic exchange thing going for a few months and see if it turns out into something good for my site.

I honestly don't think it does that much but a good website I use is hitleaps.com in my opinion it's the best out there. I wish you luck and like I said earlier I really don't think it does you that well but it's worth a shot right?

Never tried them, my forum is already pretty high up in Google although it could be higher. To get it up I usually purchase traffic where your seller will send people to your sight boosting your ranking in Google. Its actually pretty cheap but I bet traffic exchange sites are easier but I don't think I'll be taking it up any time soon.

In my opinion exchanging visitors wouldn't bring in quality traffic and thus it doesn't convert well and is useless. I would prefer exchanging links with other forum webmasters to achieve real results since bringing non-converting traffic would only use resources without showing concrete results. Instead you should put effort to promote your forum or website in google, facebook and youtube and you could use a help of sites like customhits and youlikehits.
