I have a weird problem with my WordPress blog: Previously, it was automagically managed by my ISP's software infrastructure, and now I have to deal with WordPress myself. Version 3.5.1 which is currently in use seems to have a bug that despite I checked the option that only registered users may post comments, comments seem to be enabled for anyone and put into the WordPress moderation queue. How do I enforce user registration?

Have you checked off "User must be registered and logged in to be able to comment" under Options > Discussion.

Are you sure people aren't registering then commenting. Check under users to see how many people are there.

Yup, that's why I'm wondering why it doesn't work in the first place (see above). ;)

There's no users registered except the ones I created myself (two, in total). None of the comments come from these accounts.

    More ideas? ;)

I'm at a loss. Are you running any plugins that deal with comments?
