Would your forums stay active if you went on vacation?

Let's say you're going on vacation for a week, and you won't be able to contribute posts for the week.

Would your forum remain active during the week or would it be a ghost town?

My forum would probably be dead with maybe a few posts from our regulars.

 

It'd be much less active than usual, but it'd still get some posts, members and new content. Heck, I know this from experience, I stopped using the internet at all from Christmas Day to some time near New Year's Eve. My forum still kept on going.

 

My family has moved multiple times since the forum started and I've been away for weeks. I always like to say that "my forum misses no one, including me".

 

I went on vacation multiple times while I was managing my site, and most of the times, I either went to places that had no internet connection, or went to places that did have an internet connection that I didn't use because I wanted to take some time off everything. My forum went just fine while I was out, probably not as active as if I had been around, but certainly still active.

 

I operate or administrate a dozen different forums. Most operate better without staff lurking.

 

I do not think my forums would stay active if I went away for more than a couple of days sadly. I do have one that seems to do okay when I do not login all the time though.

 

Hmm that's hard. My forum's still fairly small so I don't think so......perhaps in the future though.

 

I believe my community would do just fine without me for two weeks or so. My staff members know what's expected of them if I'm not around. And plus, I don't think my user base would allow the forums to become inactive either.

 

Yes, I think they would. They wouldn't have early on....I was the main contributor. I think at this point, though, that they might slack off a little bit, but they wouldn't die if I just missed a few days.
