vBulletin 5 Connect Beta for sale!

They already purchased the full thing... No time to wait on vb to fix their bugs.

Loads slower than a turtle.

 

It's loading fine for me, I saw a thread last week of some users saying they thought it was running a bit faster.

ya.. I did have it (being the blog with vb5 info) setup on vbulletinconnect.com but I was told I couldn't use it because it had vbulletin in it.. but I do still own it :p

 

If they want it so bad, they should buy it from you. If not, a C&D? I don't see why they should worry about it though. Especially if you're not going to do much with it.

 

Wow. 200 bucks an upgrade? They've got to be kidding me. Even happier than I stopped buying their stuff. So this would be the SECOND time I need to pay for an upgrade, after paying for an 'owned' license, yearly upgrades etc. Well ...

 

So when does vB5Connect go live with vB 5?

 

I actually just setup the latest release and it loaded on my server for a change!
I'm still waiting to see if we can setup a live install or not

Personally it's a mess, it tries to look and fell like XF and IPB but fails pretty miserable, honestly don't ever see myself upgrading my live board, and will prob continue to sit on my other VB license. If I'm ever going to expand my portfolio again it won't be with them.

 

Maybe we should ask them to define soon. LOL.

Not surprised it's extremely poorly coded, but I have to be honest and say:

I don't particularly care. I don't think most forum admins or users care either, the code quality is arguably the least of vB 5's flaws in the opinion of your average user/admin. If the script had the features from vB 4 + more useful new ones, if it was easy to use for your average user, accessible for those with disabilities and worked without javascript activated and looked half decent, I don't think anyone would give a toss how well or badly coded it was. Heck, I honestly suspect people only currently 'care' because the demo/software is such a trainwreck at the present time, if it'd worked fairly well the coding quality would be seen as irrelevant.

Honestly, for a review, I was kind of disappointed the only comments were about how it was coded.
