Are you a member of any development forums? I'm talking about any kind of development, this could be windows dev, web dev, application development etc.. I've been a member of I'd say about 40 forums over the years that are for development of specific products. Some examples are phpld, vbulletin, vbseo, ubuntu, oracle the list could go on and on..lol
Not really part of a company / software development support type forum created by the developers of a product (With the exception of Serif Software). However I have been a member of several 3rd party developer / webmaster type forums that serve as kind of a catch all when it comes to various software's / scripts. Edit: I do however find myself browsing software / script specific forums for bug fixes and troubleshooting without signing up. It seems most times someone else has already asked the same question and the answers already available, so no need to sign-up really. Eric Lyon
I was in one last year but it was a complete bust and the whole project got trashed. I might join a couple in the future if I get the time.
The main one I am a part of is webdeveloper.com. The members on that forum are great. If I ever run into a problem I just post it on there and I can usually find an answer within a day.
Its good be a member because you can find scripts that can improve the functionality of the forum as and when they become available and also help with troubleshooting where you may be having problems. Yes, you may find that most of the questions you may have already have an answer to it but you can also post yours where you encounter problems and there is no immediate solution.
I'm not a member of any development forums unless you count my MyBB Community account. I usually tend to stick with webmaster/administrator forum where not only can I get assistance on the technical aspects of the forum, but I could also get advise and assistance in SEO, front end development, user functionality, and more.
Due to my lone coder nature, I rarely visit development forums anymore. Though, I used to visit this forum back in the day all the time, I believe it was called Vbsetup or something like that
