Best advertising/promotion method for your forum?

Another good method is creating "link bait" articles - such as, Microsoft sucks, and here's why... Then, watch how many Microsoft users flood that article, and send it to others. Sometimes starting shit so to say, can make a nice impact on your site's backlinks, and users.

 

I've used SEO tools like SENuke, they work alright.

 

I tried facebook private messaging users today after creating a post template, and it has worked out nicely so far. So I'm going to continue with doing that, and another promotion method that has worked well for me is forum posting, and post exchanges. Word of mouth also works, but rarely does it ever convert into members unless they are good friends.
