I don't know, I think I am not doing it right. I am offering free hosting for posting, free adslots, free directory submissions etc. We are on xenforo. I try to promote the forums almost every where possible, and has bought some good posting packages! Still very few members are being registered compared to other forums! Can anyone please shed some light into me?
I've edited the thread title to be more clear @xpl0iter How much activity are these current contests driving in? Where are you marketing these contests at? Have you posted about them on ForumPromotion, your forum's facebook, or twitter? A great way to get traffic through those contests is by editing your signature on the forums that you're apart of with something like this: Free hosting contest @ yoursitename.com of course, replacing that with your site's name. And also, I'll ping @Brandon @Creaky @Dan Hutter @Carlos to see if they can also provide more in-sight
oh, thanks man! Really appreciated. Yeah I have posted on forumpromotions and other similar promotion forums and some admin/webmaster niche forums.
You're welcome because for in order for contests to work, you have to spread the word about it, and get some links. Unless your members are promoting the contests for you. Also, be sure to let us know how well or good these contests work for you.
As of now the contest had one the first prize winner, 2nd and third prizes are still to be given. but no one has entered the contest yet! :/
It might help if you posted a link here or in your profile. I wanted to click over to see your niche and give suggestions but no link. People cannot post if they cannot find ya.
I have a page as well as a twitter account for webgurubb. If you have some ideas on how to promote it, please let me know!
We all (or most) have the same problem. It's a big internet and there are innumerable forums out there. Not to discourage, just that you have to be tireless and not give up.
I feel tired right now, but here's a post I did a while ago... http://xenforo.com/community/thread...raffic-to-your-forum.14275/page-2#post-337507 I'll provide more advice soon... Me go to sleep now.
You need to be active outside the site too. You do seem to have a decent level of activity on the site, but you need to be seen outside it a lot. I am active in ALL forums in my niche and others big ones for webmasters. Most of my traffic and registrations come from there. Post good stuff, be helpful and people will be interested in your site. The more visitors you have (targeted visitors) the more chances for them to join. Keep on adding new interesting threads, create articles to promote etc. It's not easy in this niche, but you can make it with a lot of effort and focus.
