Yea, I agree. I can sometimes struggle being backup staff, let alone run more than one...

I feel that eventually you will just favor one over the other and the one that you don't care as much for will suffer for it. I think it's best to stick to just one and put in your 100% into it.

I run many different sites, but only 2 different forums. It's not hard to do if you are passionate about both and have a good staff.

Well, I used to own multiple websites/forums and I'd dedicated different hours of the day to each community so that each would get my equal time and effort. It worked well for a while until I decided to merge my second community onto my main one.

I've done this in the past and have found it difficult. Everything seems to work better when you focus all your time on one site.

At the moment, I just run the one main forum. There are other websites in development but there's no special plan for those sites.

I currently run two, it's the first time I've ever tried to run more then one at a time and I don't see any problem with it other then the obvious lack of time situation..lol I would be in the same position if I only had one forum though so it's not really that bad in reality. I've help mod and administrate more then one forum for years so it's really not that much different, it's just this is YOUR site so you pay special attention.
I know several people that make a living off their forums and will run several to do so, it's a full time job for them and takes every second of the day in most cases. ;)

It is what you make of it, if you are determined, you can do anything.

    I'm currently running 7.

3 from just a technical stand point for clients. I only pop on them for upgrades or as needed.

4 of my own (3 vBullein - 1 myBB) but I'm really only doing anything on 1 of them right now. I've got to build the other 3.

Look at the logo I haven't swapped out yet, lol. It's called Morbid Blueberry. It's pretty sweet there's even a PSD included. http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=199991

Funny thing is as I was installing it and every thing I kept thinking damn this looks familiar, turns out my buddy uses the same skin on a board of his that happens to be the same topic as one of my other boards.

Ya, its a real nice theme. I might have to install it once the new version of vBulletin is released because I don't want my buddy to deal with any of the new CSS changes @Iconic

I run 2 website networks... Weather Communities Network which has 4 message forums, a social network, a wiki, several blogs and some upcoming top secret projects :p which are all focused on the Weather/Meteorology, Storm Chasing and SKYWARN niches. I also run Another Forum Network which has 26 message forums currently, a few blogs and a few link directories. I am not overwhelmed at all either :) and would like to run more! This is a big time hobby for me :) That is why I have a dedicated server, 50+ domains and the whole works :p I just love doing it, it give me peace of mind! I am sure I will still do it in the future when I am gather intel and hunting down terrorists ;)

I don't think I could ever run more than one forum because of how dedicated I am to my current one.
