Like the title says, if you have a great staff member that must sadly retire do you do anything special for him and others?

For me, if I have a staff member that has been around for while and did a great job I place him on a special usergroup that stands out and still has access to the staff forum.

I did make a retired staff group on my old forum. I normally give them special features like infinite custom titles or something.

I would let them still have access to the moderator room and give them a new user group that gives them custom user title and a unique colour.

I move them to the VIP Group which stands out but they don't have extra permissions or anything.

if I had staff that retired, I would:
    1) put them in the "Special Members" group
    2) make a new group (that would be their default group) called "Retired Staff"

They would have more permissions (than the normal member) and they would be able to delete, etc... their own posts... Normal members cant on my forums.

I would do this just out of respect and to say thank you, more than anything. Howvere if the member was fired by me.. due to rule braking etc... then they would have the permissions as a normal member...
    :)

Depends why they are ex-staff, if they have been a fab asset I would place them in a special user group with free lifetime memberships and so on.

Well ive always put them into a retired group, and some nice features that vip members have. Its only fair as they have helped you out run the forum.

give them a special group and privileges indeed. maybe still has access to staff forum and give their opinions. I haven't had a retired staff member, though. ^^
